Position Overview:
The Department of Correctional Services is looking for highly qualified and motivated individuals to serve as Parole Board Members. This is a crucial role that involves active participation in Parole Board hearings, ensuring the fair and objective application of parole policies. The role focuses on facilitating the reintegration of offenders into society while safeguarding the interests of the community, offenders, and the state.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in Parole Board hearings, contributing to decision-making processes.
- Facilitate community reintegration for offenders, balancing public safety and offender rehabilitation.
- Protect the interests of the community, offenders, and the state by ensuring fair practices.
- Implement the release policy in an objective and unbiased manner.
- Carry out ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Parole Board.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding Parole Board meetings, decisions, and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, sociology, criminology, or law.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably within the criminal justice system.
- Strong understanding of criminal justice processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
