About the VKB Agriculture Silo Learnership 2024:
The VKB Agriculture Silo Learnership offers a unique opportunity to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the silo sector of agriculture. This program is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in the industry through a structured curriculum that combines classroom learning with hands-on training. You will be guided by expert professionals throughout the program, ensuring you acquire valuable skills and experience that will enhance your career prospects in agriculture.
Duties:
- Continuously oversee the flow of grain: Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of grain throughout the silo.
- Maintain ongoing grain protection through fumigation: Implement regular fumigation processes to protect grain from pests and contaminants.
- Keep track of grain tube temperatures and report deviations: Monitor and report any anomalies in grain tube temperatures to your supervisor.
- Measure grain tubes: Accurately measure grain tubes following company policies and safety regulations.
- Operate the silo: Follow VKB Group’s policies and regulations while operating the silo.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Obtain a Grade 12 certificate or NQF 4 qualification.
- Acquire a certificate in grain grading and grain fumigation.
- Previous experience in a similar environment is advantageous.
- Demonstrate responsibility, punctuality, conflict management skills, and initiative.
