City of Johannesburg Internship Opportunity: Public Housing Programme

The (CoJ) Human Settlements Department is offering an exciting internship opportunity within the Public Housing Programme branch. This internship is available for a period not exceeding 18 months and aims to provide valuable experience in project and administrative support within the department.

Remuneration

  • For Completed Qualification (min 360 credits): R9,531.54 per month (Basic Salary, no benefits)
  • For Enrolled Students: R3,500.00 per month (Basic Salary, no benefits)

Minimum Requirements

  • Education:
    • Grade 12 (NQF level 4) plus a National Diploma in Town Planning, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management at NQF level 7, or N6 in any built environment (candidates must be completing in-service training).
    • Enrollment Confirmation letter from your institution.
  • Residency: Only residents of the City of Johannesburg will be considered.

Primary Function

Provide project and administrative support and act as a Project Coordinator on Public Housing Programmes and projects implemented by the Public Housing Programme directorate within the .

  • Ensure compliance with procurement strategies, building contracts, and tender documents, as well as adherence to administrative requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Understanding of Batho Pele Principles and professionalism ethics.
