Key Responsibilities:
As a Wildfire Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting field reconnaissance and assessments to identify high-risk areas and develop targeted mitigation strategies.
- Developing and implementing fire management plans that balance ecological restoration with public safety needs.
- Collaborating with land managers, firefighters, and other stakeholders to create and execute effective wildfire prevention and suppression strategies.
- Conducting prescribed burns and other fire management activities in accordance with regulatory requirements and best management practices.
- Monitoring and reporting on wildfires, providing critical information to firefighters and incident commanders.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as forestry, ecology, or environmental science.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in wildfire management or a related field.
- Knowledge of wildfire behavior, ecology, and management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
