The Tax Manager will be responsible for providing expert tax guidance and strategic support to the organization’s finance team. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced tax professional to lead the tax function, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and driving tax efficiency and savings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations in South Africa, along with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

The Tax Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing expert tax advice and guidance to the finance team and other stakeholders.
  • Managing and maintaining the organization’s tax compliance, including preparing and submitting tax returns and ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations.
  • Identifying and implementing tax savings opportunities, negotiating with tax authorities to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Collaborating with external tax advisors and consultants to ensure optimal tax planning and compliance.
  • Developing and maintaining tax policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Providing tax training and support to other finance team members.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organization complies with all tax requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a tax role, focusing on corporate taxation.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Tax Practitioner (CTP) qualification.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations in South Africa.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
