Supervisor – Data Warehouse (ICT)

Purpose of the job:
Installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of databases.
Key Responsibilities of the job:
Develop, implement and manage database installations while monitoring performance and capacity.
Performs software upgrades and patching.
Develops strategy for database backup, testing and recovery
Perform database health check and ensure resolution of any issues arising
Executes data extraction for reporting as per user requests.
Ensure conformity to ISO (9001:2015 and 27001:2013) and data security requirements
Implementation of Performance, Audit and Integrity programmes
Academic qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or any other IT related field from a recognized university.
Professional qualification
Certification in any of the following; ITIL, COBIT, Database administration, Red Hat/Unix/Linux Certified Systems Administrator/Microsoft Certified Engineer
Project Management, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence certification is an added advantage
Membership in a recognized IT related professional body.
Work experience:
Minimum three (3) years’ hands-on experience in end-to-end management of RDBMS such as Oracle, Postgress, MySQL and MS SQL Server
Have working experience in Unix and Windows operating systems in a busy environment with project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
Ability to install and configure Linux/ Windows installations.

Attention to details and ability to work under minimum supervision.
Proactivity and strong interpersonal skills
Good communication and presentation skills
