We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Storm Chaser to join our dynamic team. In this thrilling and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for tracking and monitoring severe weather conditions, providing critical information to emergency responders, and contributing to life-saving efforts. Key Responsibilities:

As a Storm Chaser, your primary duties will involve:

  • Tracking and monitoring severe weather conditions, including tornadoes, hurricanes, and other extreme weather events.
  • Providing critical real-time information to emergency responders such as law enforcement, fire departments, and medical services.
  • Utilizing advanced weather forecasting tools and technology to predict and track severe weather.
  • Collaborating with fellow Storm Chasers and meteorologists to gather and analyze weather data.
  • Delivering real-time updates to the public through multiple channels, including social media, websites, and news outlets.

Minimum Requirements:

To qualify for this exciting role, candidates must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in storm chasing, weather forecasting, or a related area.
  • Advanced knowledge of weather forecasting principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Working Environment and Conditions:

As a Storm Chaser, you will operate in a fast-moving, dynamic environment, often in severe weather. You will need to be:

  • Willing to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Open to extensive travel, sometimes to remote and challenging locations.
  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain, strong winds, extreme heat, or freezing temperatures.
  • Ready to respond quickly to rapidly changing weather scenarios.
  • Physically and mentally fit to endure long hours of observation and fieldwork.

Duties:

Your role as a Storm Chaser will also involve:

  • Participating in storm chasing missions and expeditions.
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs of weather events and collected data.
  • Providing timely and accurate weather information to the public and emergency responders.
  • Utilizing and mastering weather forecasting technology to improve predictions.
  • Collaborating closely with weather teams and other meteorologists to analyze findings.
