Our esteemed organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Psychologist to join our team. As a key member of our sports medicine department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the mental well-being and performance of our athletes. As a Sports Psychologist, you will apply your expertise to help our athletes overcome mental barriers, build confidence, and develop a winning mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Sports Psychologist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations of athletes to identify areas for improvement and develop personalized coaching plans.
  • Providing individual and group coaching sessions to athletes to enhance their mental toughness, focus, and performance.
  • Working closely with coaches and other sports medicine professionals to develop and implement mental skills training programs.
  • Designing and delivering workshops and presentations on mental skills training and sports psychology to athletes, coaches, and parents.
  • Collaborating with our sports medicine team to provide comprehensive care and support to athletes with mental health concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Sports Psychology or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a Sports Psychologist in a professional or collegiate sports setting.
  • Current certification as a Sports Psychologist (e.g., Australian Psychological Society, British Psychological Society, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with athletes, coaches, and other sports medicine professionals.

Working Environment and Conditions:

This role is based in our state-of-the-art sports complex, with access to cutting-edge facilities and equipment. You will work closely with our sports medicine team to provide comprehensive care and support to athletes. The role requires occasional travel to events and competitions, as well as evening and weekend work to accommodate athlete schedules.

As a Sports Psychologist, your duties will include:

  • Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations of athletes.

  • Designing and delivering mental skills training programs.
  • Collaborating with our sports medicine team to provide comprehensive care and support to athletes.
  • Designing and delivering workshops and presentations on mental skills training and sports psychology.

We offer a competitive remuneration package, including:

  • Salary: R600,000 – R800,000 per annum.
