Gov Worker
As the Senior Revenue Accountant, you will manage a team of accountants and oversee all revenue accounting activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. You will have a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, enabling you to provide expert advice to senior management on financial matters.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for:
- Leading the revenue accounting function, managing a team of accountants to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Developing and maintaining financial reports and dashboards to provide real-time financial information to senior management.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Providing expert advice to senior management on financial matters, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinating with other departments, including sales, marketing, and operations, for accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with external auditors and other stakeholders.
- Identifying and mitigating financial risks, including cash flow and liquidity risks.
- Providing training and guidance to junior accountants and other finance team members.
- Performing other duties as required by the company.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Certification: Professional certification in accounting, such as CA(SA) or CIMA.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a finance or accounting department.
- Skills: Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work Ethic: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Flexibility: Ability to travel occasionally.
