Gov Worker
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk and Internal Control Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization, as well as implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to ensure the achievement of our strategic objectives. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
The Risk and Internal Control Officer will be a key member of our risk management team, working closely with various stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of risk management principles and practices, as well as experience in implementing and maintaining internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
The Risk and Internal Control Officer will be responsible for:
- Identifying, assessing, and prioritizing risks across the organization
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and controls
- Conducting regular risk assessments and monitoring risk profiles
- Providing risk advice and guidance to management and other stakeholders
- Identifying and reporting on areas of non-compliance
- Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to ensure the achievement of our strategic objectives
- Conducting internal audits and monitoring controls
- Providing training and guidance to employees on risk management and internal controls
- Staying up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management and internal controls
- A professional certification in risk management or internal controls (such as Certified Risk Manager or Certified Internal Auditor)
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
