As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our research and development capabilities, we are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Pharmaceutical Chemist to join our team. The Pharmaceutical Chemist will play a vital role in developing, formulating, and producing novel pharmaceutical products that align with our company’s values and mission.

A successful candidate will have expertise in the development, analysis, and formulation of pharmaceutical products. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of pharmaceutical products, from idea conception to commercialization, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Pharmaceutical Chemist will be to devise, design, and synthesize novel pharmaceutical compounds for development and commercialization. The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct experiments to evaluate the efficacy, bioavailability, and pharmacokinetic properties of pharmaceutical products.
  • Develop and implement formulation and manufacturing processes to improve the quality and yield of pharmaceutical products.
  • Lead or participate in the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in the production, analysis, and testing of pharmaceutical products.
  • Contribute to the development, preparation, and filing of documentation for regulatory submissions in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Interact with colleagues to optimize product development and research objectives, ensuring timely achievement of project milestones.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Pharmaceutical Chemist.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical formulations and production processes.
  • Sound understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations.
  • Experience in the development, analysis, and optimization of pharmaceutical compounds, products, and processes.
  • Proven ability to operate under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and work independently.

Key Skills and Attributes:

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, GMP, GLP, and cGMP.
  • Proficiency with scientific software, including Mass Spectrometry (MassSpec), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) data processing.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting scientific presentations and reports.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing pharmaceutical products, specifically SAHPRA, CIOMS, and CPD.
  • Proactivity in identifying and implementing improved methods and processes.
