Gov Worker
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Mine Safety Officer to join our team. As a Mine Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting regular inspections, and performing risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment at one of our mining sites. Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce compliance with OHS Act and Mining Ordinance regulations by identifying and reporting non-compliant practices and taking steps to rectify them
- Maintain accurate and updated records of safety audits to support informed decision-making and performance planning
- Conduct periodic safety inspections and perform task-based risk assessments, including reporting near-miss incidents and hazards identified in the workplace
- Supervise and coordinate a wide range of safety inspections to ensure total quality control and documentation
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Diploma/National Diploma in Mine Management, Mine Overseer, or Mine Health and Safety
- 5-8 years of experience as a Mine Safety Officer
- Valid Mine Overseer’s Certificate
- Competencies in Mine Health and Safety, Risk Management, and HSE Management Systems

Working Environment and Conditions
As a Mine Safety Officer, you will work across our mining site in areas such as the control room and underground tunnels. Exposure to dust, noise, and hazards is a possibility. A valid driver’s license is required.
Duties
In this role, you may often be required to visit remote sites and will report to the Mine Health and Safety Manager or the Mine Manager, who will provide guidance and support in achieving desired outcomes.
