Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Controller will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the financial planning and budgeting process, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Managing and coordinating the financial reporting process, including preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and other reports.
- Providing financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making, identifying areas for cost savings and process improvements.
- Leading and managing a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of financial objectives.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws, and standards, including the Companies Act and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Identifying and mitigating financial risks, implementing controls and procedures to minimize exposure.
- Coordinating and implementing financial system upgrades and improvements to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
- Developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification.
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar financial controller role.
- Have a strong understanding of financial management principles, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Be proficient in financial software, including accounting packages and Excel.
- Have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Be able to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including senior management and external parties.
