Key Responsibilities

As the Financial Compliance Officer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely financial record-keeping in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal policies.
  • Executing and mentoring our financial management systems to uphold compliance standards.
  • Accurately processing various financial transactions and ensuring transparent disclosure of these transactions.
  • Proactively mitigating financial risk by identifying financial reporting irregularities and engaging with relevant parties for timely rectification.
  • Collaborating closely with internal departments to integrate financial practices and ensure compliance across the organization.

Minimum Requirements

To secure this position, you should hold a tertiary qualification (National Diploma/Degree) in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a four-year diploma or equivalent qualifications recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

Professional body registration with organizations such as SAICA, CTA, or SAC is preferred. Alternatively, professional accounting certifications, including Chartered Accountant (CA), will also be considered.

Our ideal Financial Compliance Officer will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of continuous work experience in auditing, commercial finance, tax, law, actuarial work, compliance, chartered accounting services, or equivalents.
  • Proven proficiency in financial compliance regulations relevant to the role.
  • The ability to use standard software suites such as Microsoft Office, SAP, and others effectively.
