Gov Worker
The Finance Director is a pivotal leadership role within our organization, responsible for overseeing and leading the finance function across various business units. Key Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Leading the finance function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Developing and implementing financial strategies to drive business growth, improve profitability, and optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborating with senior management to develop and manage business plans, strategies, and budgets.
- Maintaining and enhancing internal control systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Providing strategic financial advice to the CEO and senior management.
- Fostering a culture of financial discipline, integrity, and transparency within the organization.
- Managing and mentoring a team of finance professionals to achieve high-performing results.
- Ensuring the effective use of resources, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing initiatives to optimize financial performance.
Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a finance leadership role, preferably within the South African market.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, economic trends, and regulatory environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (Master’s degree or relevant certification preferred).
- Professional certification, such as CA(SA) or CFA, and/or relevant industry recognition.
