Emergency Medical Technician

Key Responsibilities:

In this critical role, your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to emergency calls and evaluating patients’ conditions.
• Providing basic life support and transporting patients to medical facilities.
• Conducting patient assessments, identifying priority patients, and providing relevant medical interventions.
• Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to medical records protocols.
• Participating in quality assurance activities to improve patient care and outcomes.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Hold a current EMT-Basic (EMT-B) certification or higher.
• Complete a recognized EMT program and have a minimum of 1 year of recent EMT experience.
• Possess a valid South African driver’s license (Code 08 or B) and a reliable vehicle.
• Be able to lift, carry, or move patients and equipment with minimal assistance.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to challenging situations.

Duties:

Your duties as an EMT will include:

• Responding to emergency calls, conducting scene assessments, and providing initial patient care.
• Treating patients with various medical conditions, including cardiac arrests, trauma cases, and medical emergencies.
• Transporting patients to medical facilities, ensuring safety and comfort during transport.
• Participating in emergency medical services (EMS) operations, including coordination and communication with other emergency services.
• Maintaining accurate records, reports, and charts, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
