The role

This position will fulfil a key role, within a new Mechanical and Electrical structure that embraces change whilst endeavouring to delivering efficient, good quality, cost effective and compliant services.

The M&E team are responsible for the service delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, including capital projects to council homes throughout the borough. our aim is to ensure that our homes are safe and comfortable as part of a built environment that enables and promotes healthy and happy lifestyle. You will be part of a team delivering against this vision.

Reporting to the Electrical Contracts Manager, the Electrical Supervisor will

Assist in the management of the Electrical Team including the direct labour operatives and external contractors delivering RBC mechanical and electrical services.

Ensure the team meets its service standards, financial targets and achieves a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities could include the role of the Qualifying Supervisor for the team

Responsible for the related documentation.

Undertaking pre and post work inspections to identify required works and to ensure these are completed to the correct standards in accordance with all Statutory Regulations and Best Practice.

Assist in the delivery of capital projects, for technical advice and audit.

Key requirements

Qualification in a related field: • Qualified to City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 or NVQ level 2 and 3. • Qualified to City & Guilds 2382: 18th Edition amendment or current edition Qualified to City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2, 2330 Level 2&3, 2381, 2382, 2361, 2362, 2391, 2392, 2380 & 2394, 2395, 2365.

Recognised Health & safety Qualification.

Testing & Inspection: 2391 or 2394/5

Experience of working with different stakeholder, e.g. management, councillors and external professionals.

Ability to communicate and present information.

Ability to motivate and develop staff.

Ability to manage budgets within your control

A good knowledge of regulations: Health and Safety, Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Full valid driving licence.

Skills & experience

Applicants will need at least 3 years’ experience at a senior level within the Electrical industry in an operational role to include but not limited to electrical servicing, repairs and electrical installations.

Detailed knowledge of Electrical regulations and legislation and in particular BS7671 to current standards.

Experience of contract Management

Experience to diagnose and repair to any electrical systems.

Experience of managing staff and personal development of team members.

Extensive knowledge of electrical installations, associated repairs, fault finding and safe isolation procedures.

Experience of dealing with complex complaints and contentious issues.

Able to work within Health & Safety Guidelines ensuring safety of self and others.
