Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Substation Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting routine inspections and maintenance of electrical substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems to ensure optimal performance and safety
* Identifying and resolving electrical faults and malfunctions using specialized equipment and software
* Performing repairs and replacements of electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, transformers, and switchgear
* Collaborating with engineers and other technicians to develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules
* Providing technical support and assistance to operators and other team members
* Maintaining accurate records and reports of maintenance activities, repairs, and incidents
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
* A National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical substation maintenance and repair
* A valid Electrical Engineering Technician’s license or equivalent
* Proficiency in electrical safety procedures and protocols
* Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
