We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drilling Engineer to join our team in South Africa. As a Drilling Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of drilling operations, from planning to execution. You will oversee the drilling process from well planning to completion, including designing and implementing drilling programs, monitoring drilling operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

As a Drilling Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing drilling programs, including well planning, drilling operations, and completion strategies
  • Monitoring drilling operations, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including conducting regular inspections and audits
  • Coordinating with other departments, including operations, engineering, and logistics
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in drilling operations, preferably in a senior or lead role
  • Strong knowledge of drilling operations, including well planning, drilling techniques, and completion strategies
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Working Environment and Conditions

The Drilling Engineer will be based in our office in South Africa, with regular travel to drilling sites and other locations as required. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional overtime and weekend work.
