Key Responsibilities:

As a Dietary Technician, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Preparing and delivering meals and snacks to patients according to their individualized diets and nutrition plans.
  • Assisting with food and menu planning, making suggestions for healthy and palatable meal options.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient food and nutrition intake.
  • Providing nutrition education and counseling to patients, family members, and healthcare providers.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary patient care conferences to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Assisting with kitchen operations, including meal preparation, cleaning, and sanitizing.
  • Ensuring compliance with hospital food safety and quality standards.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • National Diploma in Dietetics or a related field.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role or relevant clinical experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
