The Budget Control Officer is a critical role within the organization, responsible for ensuring that the budget is prepared, implemented, and controlled in accordance with the organization’s financial policies and procedures. This position is essential for ensuring that the financial resources of the organization are utilized effectively and efficiently to achieve its strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of budgeting principles, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Budget Control Officer will include:

  • Preparation of the annual budget and quarterly financial reports.
  • Monitoring and controlling budget expenditure to ensure it is within the approved limits.
  • Identification and resolution of budgetary issues and discrepancies.
  • Preparation and presentation of financial reports to management and other stakeholders.
  • Development and implementation of budgetary procedures and policies.
  • Analysis of budgetary data and provision of recommendations for improved financial management.

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Knowledge of budgeting principles, financial reporting, and accounting practices.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A high level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

The Budget Control Officer will be responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Preparing and submitting financial reports and statements.
  • Monitoring and controlling budget expenditure.
  • Identifying and resolving budgetary issues and discrepancies.
  • Providing financial guidance and advice to management.
  • Developing and implementing budgetary procedures and policies.
  • Analyzing and providing recommendations for improved financial management.
