Your primary focus will be to manage the garden’s finances, staff, and physical assets while fostering strong relationships with our partners and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
The Botanical Garden Manager will be expected to:

  • Develop and implement plans to improve visitor satisfaction and increase revenue through creative exhibits, events, and interactive experiences.
  • Collaborate with the curatorial team to design and install new garden displays, exhibitions, and plant collections.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to visitors, including tours, guided walks, and educational programs.
  • Monitor and control garden expenses, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Lead a diverse team of horticulturalists, maintenance staff, and support staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local community groups, schools, and corporate entities.

Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this esteemed position, applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in horticultural management, preferably in a botanical garden or a similar setting.
  • A recognized degree in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of garden management principles, including horticulture, plant pathology, and entomology.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, financial management, and asset management.
