Key Responsibilities
As a Biomass Power Plant Operator, your key responsibilities will include:
* Operating and monitoring the biomass power plant, including turbines, boilers, and auxiliary systems
* Conducting routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment
* Identifying and troubleshooting problems with the plant’s systems and equipment
* Collaborating with other team members to resolve issues and optimize plant performance
* Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements
* Maintaining accurate records of plant operations, maintenance, and repair activities
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following minimum requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
* 2-3 years of experience in power generation or a related field
* Strong understanding of power plant operations, including steam cycles, turbines, and generators
* Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations, such as OSHA and NERC
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Good communication and teamwork skills

Working Environment and Conditions
As a Biomass Power Plant Operator, you will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The plant is located in South Africa, and you will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions. The work environment is physically demanding, requiring you to be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb stairs, and work in tight spaces.
