Assistant Manager – Petroleum Monitoring Unit

Purpose of the job
The role is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the evaluation, monitoring, and regulation of petroleum-related activities within designated customs and border control areas.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expertise in petroleum engineering to support the evaluation and monitoring of petroleum-related activities and enforce compliance with relevant regulations.
Conduct compliance checks on Oil installations and petroleum stations to curb adulteration and diversion of transit fuel into local market.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures related to petroleum operations within customs and border control zones.
Prepare and maintain detailed technical reports, documentation, and records related to petroleum engineering activities.
Correspondence with Oil Marketing Companies on matters Petroleum Monitoring and taxation.
Management of Performance, Audit, Integrity, QMS and Risk programmes
Academic qualification
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field from a recognized university
Professional qualification
Relevant Engineering certification from a recognized body
Work experience
Minimum four (4) years’ relevant work experience of which one (1) year should be at Supervisory role.

Strong analytical, diagnostic, decision making and problem solving skills
Attention to details and ability to work under minimum supervision.
Proactivity and strong communication and interpersonal skills
