The Air Quality Technician plays a vital role in our environmental services team, ensuring the proper maintenance, calibration, and operation of air quality monitoring stations and equipment. This role is critical for providing accurate data for environmental monitoring and enforcement, contributing to public health and environmental protection. Your work will directly impact efforts to monitor and control air pollution levels.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Air Quality Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of air quality monitoring equipment to ensure accurate data collection and quality control.
  • Conducting field inspections to verify the proper functioning of air quality monitoring equipment and reporting any malfunctions or issues to the team leader.
  • Collecting and analyzing air quality samples using specialized equipment, and preparing reports on sampling results.
  • Collaborating with team members to identify and resolve issues related to air quality monitoring equipment or data analysis.
  • Providing training and technical support to less experienced team members.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A relevant Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field; or an equivalent qualification with experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in air quality monitoring, calibration, and maintenance; preferably in a government or research institution setting.
  • A valid driver’s license and a willingness to work in various locations, potentially including remote areas.

  • Working at heights, in confined spaces, or in areas with hazardous materials.
  • Traveling to remote locations, potentially for extended periods.
