Requirements:
- Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Speech Therapy or Speech Therapy and Audiology.
- Current HPCSA registration in Speech Therapy or Speech Therapy and Audiology.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience post-registration as an Independent Practitioner.
- Knowledge of Public Service Act, Batho-Pele principles, PFMA, Quality Assurance, and labour relations.
- Skills in communication, teamwork, computer literacy, and research.
- Experience in managing speech, language, communication, and feeding difficulties in adults is advantageous.
Duties:
- Coordinate and provide effective speech therapy services to inpatients and outpatients.
- Manage a team of 3 to 5 speech therapists within the department.
- Oversee the management of adult speech therapy services, including protocol implementation, clinical monitoring, and service development.
- Plan and solve problems related to departmental needs, waiting lists, and new service implementation.
- Ensure quality and risk management, develop departmental policies, and manage budgets and resources.
- Provide mentoring, identify training needs, and participate in research and public education.
- Engage in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and patient care activities.
